I’ve seen and been involved in a few different project involving video playing back. Peter forde’s POST Post post, is an installation using Pure Data to create a piece which show a video of the person 10-20 secons after they arrived there. Giving them a view of themselves from the outside looking in. http://www.peterfordeart.com/Postpostpost.html

Bruce Newman’s – going around the corner is also an interesting piece. I saw this at the Tate a few years ago as part of the Open Systems exhibition. The viewer is presented with a white cube they can not enter. Following the walls around the cube, they are followed by a simple closed-circut setup, with the camera picking you up and feeding the video to another screen. This is from 1970, when maybe the issues of big brother and servalence where’nt quite as obvious as today. The piece is amusing to experience and also makes me thing of a hall of mirrors.
