This is a new version of the fractle drawing now using the microphone. This version as a very low thereshold so the microphone is very sensitive, picking up audio, the smaller, darker lines are the lower sounds, not from blowing but just background noise.
The louder the noise, the deeper the fractal goes, this adds an interesting depth to the image making. My system as started to move away from the original Ink drawings and now taking on different rules.
The colour is also linked to sound, using just the blue, high is 255 and low 0. with the whole range in the middle.
Using the mic as a normal volume drawing tool, instead of the blowing version, could be used for recording soundscapes. I could try recording drawings in different senarios, natural and mad-made and seeing if the visualisation’s created are representative of the location.
